Innovation Grant Announcement

Over $70,000 Awarded to 2021-2022 SLPS Foundation Innovation Grant Recipients

St. Louis Public Schools Foundation is pleased to be funding nine NEW Innovation Grant Awardees! Thanks to the generosity of Ameren, BJC (in honor of Val Bell and Kelvin Westbrook), and Wells Fargo, school leadership teams throughout Saint Louis Public Schools will embark upon creative solutions to identified challenges over the next year and a half.

17 school teams applied for Innovation Grant funding, with requests ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. A review committee made up of SLPS Foundation staff and Board Members and SLPS staff helped to make decisions about this round of School Innovation Grants. It was a difficult decision and we are so grateful to each team for the time and effort they put into their application.

Congratulations to our Nine Awardees!

The below schools submitted applications that creatively addressed challenges related to academics and school culture. Innovative ideas ranged from parent book clubs, classroom yoga and mindfulness, re-imagining spaces to better support students, growing robotics programs, linking gardening and virtual reality with literacy, creating career pathways using a re-vitalized greenhouse, and growing programs that support our high school students’ ability to see the world.

The awarded teams will participate in a series of Peer Exchanges and coaching sessions over the next year and a half to put their ideas into action. For more information on the School Innovation Grants Program contact Kaleigh Lawrence at
