SLPS’ Office of Student Services has been working hard to ensure that families and staff are cared for right now. At any given time an SLPS social worker might be completing a wellness check with students or staff, dropping off supplies to a family’s porch, coordinating with a community partner, or sharing virtual resources to have a healthy brain and body during this time. Families and students can call the Social and Emotional Support Hotlineto speak with a District social worker and can also access community resources through the District and school websites.

SLPS therapists, funded by generous donors to the SLPS Foundation, have shifted to ensure that students continue to receive behavioral health services during this time as well. This week the team started telehealth services for students that were receiving behavioral health services through SLPS therapists prior to school closures. Big Thank You to the Student Services Team for all of their work during this time!
